Money raised from Charity CampOut MX Ride at Alpha Motocross Park goes to helping injured rider, Mike Beaudin
Prior to the CampOut, we advertised that the money was going towards helping the needs of ‘injured riders,’ specifically someone who had fallen down in our local community of Ontario.
Two months ago, Hamilton native Mike Beaudin, was returning to racing for the first time in a long time at the Gopher Dunes National. Sadly, despite putting a lot of effort into his return, Beaudin suffered a crash off of the finish line jump at Gopher and was left a twisted spinal cord. Severe enough that it’s left him without any feeling and movement from the waist down.
Much of the Alpha crew had met Mike over the years at the Ontario races and National events, where the young man would be either racing himself, or wrenching for his good friend Jay Burke as he chased the professional dream across Canada. Mike’s a great guy and has a real enthusiasm for the sport and in life, especially during his biggest challenge yet. He continues to live with a lot of energy and maintains hope that one day he will walk again.
That being said, it was decided that we would donate the money raised at the Charity CampOut – $2500 – and put it towards Mike Beaudin’s rehabilitation and needs for a comfortable daily life during his new battle.
Thank you to everyone who supported the Charity CampOut and blessed a fallen rider in our little motocross community. You guys and girls are awesome! Mike was very appreciative of your support and looks forward to seeing folks at the next big race!
