Some people call it the holidays, we call it crunch time! The time between Christmas and A1 is the last two weeks we have to get all those last minute things done. And to make matters a little more stressful, a lot of places shut down from Christmas until after New Years.
So what has to be done before we go racing January 6th?

Aside from the obvious bike builds and testing, there are flights to book, parts to order, and race day catering menus to arrange. I need to approve the last minute stuff like mats, pit boards, and stands…the poster has to be sent to print, and I have to make sure all attractions for our Nuclear Blast activation area are dialed in and ready to go.
This year we are pretty stoked about the attractions we will have at the races. At A1, we will be bringing out Kody Kamm’s sled for fans to check out along with having the Amsoil snocross race streaming LIVE in the pit. All season long, we will also have our Nuclear Blast Records big screen playing videos from all your favourite metal bands, as well as commercial/instructional videos from all our sponsors for your viewing pleasure…so stop by and say hi. Myself and our staff love chatting with fans and answering any questions you may have.

It’s not all stressful; one of my favourite things to do in the time leading up to the season is plan our race kits. Luckily for me, Carson at FXR is cool and lets me have some input, so after we decide on the first run of five or six gear combos, I then get to pair them with a helmet and boots. While I have worked with FXR for the past few years, we are starting brand new relationships with Arai helmets and TCX boots so it’s definitely exciting to include these new brands in my plans.
For this weekend, we are running a special edition FXR gear set that both the pro supercross and snocross team will run simultaneously on Saturday at our respective events. We decided to pair it with red/white TCX Comp Evo 2 Michelin boots and a red Arai VX-PRO4 Shooting Star helmet for the night show. We are also really excited to roll out Rockwell’s all-new goggle this weekend when we head down the line for the first practice session of 2018.
So make sure you stop by the ROCKWELL RACING pits to check out all our new gear, bikes, and parts this weekend when the 2018 Monster Energy Supercross season kicks off on Saturday in Anaheim, California.
