Fox/Wets 49/Suzuki Ricky Carmichael Contest Day at Gopher Dunes

The Monday morning after the Gopher Dunes National was one of the coolest contests that have ever happened in motocross. Ten lucky winners from across Canada entered at West 49 stores or online to win a chance to be taught by the "Goat" himself, Ricky Carmichael. It was an absolute perfect day, and having Ricky there made these 10 winners a part of something very special. At the end of the day of intense learning from the "Goat", each of the 10 contestants picked a number plate and on the back. If it said you won, that person took home a brand new DRZ 125 courtesy of Suzuki Canada.

Crystal's Ball - Gopher

On July 18th the Monster Energy Motocross Nationals resumed at Gopher Dunes in Courtland, Ontario for Round 5 of the series. The weekend could not have come soon enough, as I was excited for the eastern rounds to begin. Friday evening was spent in Long Point (20 minutes from Gopher Dunes) at the Moore residence on the lake. Pam Moore (better half to Liam O'Farrell), Jenn, Mr. and Mrs. Moore, Kelsey Lockhart, James Lissimore, Trevor Emery and I had a pleasant Friday night leading into the weekend of racing. Saturday we were off to the track bright and early.

Kindersley Report

By Brad Bernas

Another warm race weekend took place in Kindersley on the 18th of July. The 8am sky was beginning to look a little rough, but the forecasted weather kept true and the day stayed sunny. The track, like Swift Current, is built mostly within view of the crowd, however many corners were out of sight from some of the viewing areas where riders fell, and some injured. The track is nicely built on a hillside, which also received much watering. Unfortunately, the wind dried up a lot of that water before the races really even began! Because the pit area is in a valley, cell coverage was sparse. Many phones died searching for service that day.
