Random Tuesday #5
Montreal 2004 Great start shot of the first turn at the Big O. #27 is Nick Wey the eventual winner of the race. How many others can you name?
Wild Rose Park 2004 The crowd gazes down the hill at Wild Rose Park in Downtown Calgary; as Craig Decker on the Suzuki, Doug Dehaan in the blue and Gavin Gracyk in the yellow chase JSR who is crossing the finish line a few seconds ahead of this group. At least I think that is JSR, my eyes aren't that good anymore.
Simon Homans 2004 The 2001 East Coast MX2 champion, Simon Homans is one of Quebec's finest. He never really gained championship form after that fantastic year he had, but he was always a threat for moto wins. In 2004 he had a good year and at RJ Motorsport Park had one of the most highlighted crashes in the history of the TV show. If you ever have a chance to see RJ's 2004 Moto 2 of the MX2 class, do it, it’s awesome!!
Doug Dehaan 2004 Doug Dehaan is one of the best riders to ever come out of the Great White North. A fan favourite, nice guy and a sponsors dream, Doug would line up in any country at any time. He is so talented on a motorcycle that he could jump off the couch and make SX mains. Dougie now lives in Austria with his wife and son.
Tucker Hibbert 2007 The heir to the Blair Morgan throne in Snocross. Tucker Hibbert shows up in Canada every once in awhile, and when he does it is a great show. In 2007, Hibbert actually raced the entire West Coast MX2 series. He managed to take one over all and would have been in the title fight if not for some bike issues.
Andrew Belin 2007 A young kid from BC who turned some heads in 2006, he has never been able to repeat some of his performances from that year, but he still shows up and tears up the dirt from time to time out west.
Ryan Gauld 2004 This was my last year with KTM. I really struggled in 2003 and 2004 on the Austrian built machines. It also didn't help that I was more into going to the bars and finding where the next party was instead of focusing on racing. This bike was the fastest I ever had though. 2004 KTM 125, Bondi Engine was a rocket. Other than the beefed up OGIO golf cart Jeff Williams gave our team to wreak havoc on for the summer, it was the only good thing I had going in 2004.
Joel Saarits 2004 Joel was a fast young kid that raced Beginner Class in the year 2000 and then moved straight to pro in 2001. He shocked many racers with his great starts on the new YZ250F back in 2001. Saarits finished fourth in a few motos and earned #26 his first year pro. This shot is from 2004.
Jeremy McGrath and Chad Reed 2005 This is just a rare beautiful moment in time shared between the Greatest of all time in Supercross to one of his disciples. Chad reed has said many times how Jeremy McGrath was his idol as a kid; imagine the smile under his helmet when this happened.

Ross Pederson - 1992 You just look at this picture and you can see the toughness and raw aggression of Ross Pederson. Over 40 championships were won by this Alberta native. So many records that will never come close to being beat. Ross Pederson is and always will be the best racer that Canada has ever seen.
