Justin Barcia claims first 450 Motocross victory at AMA Pro Motocross round 6

Rome, Georgia (US), 30 June 2015 – JGR Yamaha pilot Justin Barcia won his first AMA Pro Motocross national victory in the premier 450 class on Saturday at Budds Creek MX Park, Maryland. Barcia rode on Pirelli MXMS 32 80/100-21 front and 110/90-19 MXMS Mud 32 rear tires. This also marked Pirelli’s first AMA Pro Motocross overall 450cc national win in the United Sates and the second for the Autotrader.com/Toyota/JGR Yamaha team.

Round 6 of the 2015 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross season proved to be a challenging day of competition for riders due to the rain and storms throughout the afternoon.  Barcia started the race strong, taking his series leading fourth Holeshot Award just ahead of Dungey. Barcia remained in the lead the entire race in the tough conditions, claiming the checkered flag by a gap of over 17 seconds.

“It’s rewarding to see the success that Pirelli is having, first at Monster Energy Supercross and now the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.  We continue to display our commitment to the American motorcycle tire market with wins like today, following Pirelli’s successful motorsports heritage that is renowned around the world – where Pirelli has won 62 World Motocross championships, is the sole tire supplier of the FIM World Superbike and Formula 1®.  To add Justin Barcia’s career first 450 overall win to the list showcases the excellent quality of our Scorpion MX tires that are sold to the American public,” said Josh Whitmire, Off Road Race Manager for Pirelli NAFTA.

Round 7 will take place next Saturday, July 4, with the Red Bull RedBud National in Buchanan, Michigan.
