Yamaha Motor Canada Presents Behind the Lens from McNabb Valley Raceway

When the riders and teams pulled into the McNabb Valley Raceway for Round 4 of the Rockstar Energy Triple Crown MXTour, they were greeted by one of the cleanest paddock areas of the series. The track was also a thing of beauty and instantly it seemed like everyone was excited for the final western race of the series.

With a great track to race on, the battles on Saturday were some of the best we’ve seen thus far. In the 250 Pro/Am class, Jess Pettis was the rider to beat as he took his third overall win of the 2018 season. In the 450 class, Kaven Benoit proved unbeatable for the second week in a row. It was a great day of racing and James Lissimore was once again on hand to capture everything for this weeks Behind the Lens.

With multiple lines in each corner, it was easy for the riders to battle all day long.
The McNabb Valley Raceway was a beautiful place for Round 4 of the Rockstar Energy Triple Crown Series.
Mike Alessi not only had one of his best races of the series in Manitoba, but he also became a father this week. Congrats to the Alessi family.
The second moto battle in the 450 class was incredible.
Things have sure changed in the Benoit camp over the past few weeks. Confidence is sure a wonderful thing.
The Red Bull KTM Thor Racing Team is beginning to figure things out. Look for them to be even better in the east.
For the second time this summer, Mike Brown was on hand at a Canadian National and again he rode very well.
Cade Clason felt right at home on the tacky Manitoba soil and his results proved it.
Although Colton Facciotti has slipped a little in the past two weeks, he will still carry the red plate into the east.
With multiple podium appearances in the first four rounds, Joey Crown has set himself up very well for the east.
It looks like Dillan Epstein wants to get a different set of bars on his YZ450.
Matt Goerke has ridden great so far this summer and he will share the red plate with Facciotti as the 2018 series heads east.
Heading into Round 4, Casey Keast had a little momentum going in the 250 Pro/Am class. Unfortunately, a big crash on Saturday brought a premature end to his day.
Kyle Keast looked to be just getting warmed up in the first four rounds. Look for the Dozer to be very good in the east.
The battles in the 250 Pro/Am class have been so good during the first four rounds.
After playing fiddle to Jess Pettis for the first two rounds, Shawn Maffenbeier has come back nicely and now he will carry the red plate into the east.
I love this photo of a hard charging Keylan Meston!
It seems like every rider in the 250 Pro/Am class will have a bad race during the national series. Unfortunately, Josh Osby’s turn came at Round 4.
The paddock in Manitoba was most definitely on point.
After a very hard crash in Prince George, Jared Patruska came back nicely at Round 4.
With the big jumps that littered the McNabb Valley track, all of the riders took their turns putting on an air show.
Jess Pettis was unbeatable in the opening 250 Pro/Am moto.
The long start straight at Round 4 was very impressive.
Cole Thompson had a solid first four rounds in the 450 class and now looks forward to the east.
Yes, Round 4 had some very deep ruts.
The likeable kid from BC Wyatt Waddell pulled an awesome holeshot in the opening 250 Pro/Am moto.
Look for young Ontario riders Tanner Ward and Marco Cannella to reach the podium a few times in the east rounds.
The Manitoba track provided the riders a chance to show off a little leg swag.
Andy White is always smiling when Mike Brown is in town.
Even though he DNF’d yet another moto at Round 4, GDR Honda rider Dylan Wright just keeps charging hard.
