Yamaha Motor Canada Presents Behind the Lens From The MXTour

With a weekend off of the 2018 Rockstar Energy Triple Crown MXTour Series  for the riders and teams, we decided to look back at some of the best James Lissimore photos from the first six rounds. From the hard pack tracks of the first two rounds out west to the sandy soil of the past two in the east, the riders have really been put to the test this summer. As we get ready to head to the series’ most easterly round this weekend in Moncton, NB, Jess Pettis leads the 250 Pro/Am class and Colton Facciotti leads the 450 class. Both riders will be looking to build on their points lead this weekend at the historic Riverglade track. With Round 7 in our immediately future, let’s look back at a few great photos from the opening six rounds in this week’s Yamaha Motor Canada Behind the Lens.

When the gate dropped for Round 1 in Calgary, fans in the west got their first look at rookie pro Marco Cannella.

GDR Fox Honda rider Colton Facciotti took the lead in both 450 motos at the opening round and never looked back.

Riders at Round 1 had to once again deal with Calgary’s infamous concrete starting pad.

How could we post a photo from Calgary that didn’t include this incredible backdrop.

Round 2 at Popkum was once again the Colton Facciotti show in the 450 class.

In a cool move the GDR Fox Honda Team brought British MX Champion Jake Nichols over to race Round 2.

You have to love how these two can battle all day long on the track, and then walk back to the pits together with a smile on their face.

The Popkum was a challenging one for the riders, but it certainly offered some incredible views of the nearby BC mountains.

The start at Round 3 in Prince George is one of the most exciting of the series.

After struggling through the opening two rounds of the series, Kaven Benoit finally put it all together in Prince George and won both 450 motos.

At Round 3, the day started off as a wet and cold one. However, by the second motos the Blackwater track was in great shape.

Prince George offers the Top 3 riders in each class some of the coolest trophies of the series.

Round 4 in Manitoba had battles like this one all day long.

The McNabb Family had their track in beautiful condition for Round 4 of the Rockstar Energy Triple Crown MXTour Series.

One of the best battles of the day was between Josh Osby and Shawn Maffenbeier in the 250 Pro/Am class.

This photo of Dylan Wright and Jess Pettis flying through the Manitoba air could be one of the best of the series so far.

Round 5 in Sand Del Lee was all about heat, perseverance and family.

Tyler Medaglia gets a big kiss from his daughter after a tough 450 moto.

After not finishing the opening moto of the day, Jess Pettis came back strong in Moto 2 and led start to finish.

Few people were as happy at the end of the day in SDL as GDR Fox Honda Team Manager Derek Schuster.

Dillan Epstein finally put everything together at Round 6 and grabbed the first moto win in the 450 class.

Round 6 at Gopher Dunes even brought out the old Junk Yard Dog John Dowd.

Jess Pettis’ performance at Gopher Dunes will go down in history as one of the most dominating sand rides of all-time in Canada.

It had been exactly ten years since Tyler Medaglia last won a 450 class overall. However, at Round 6 he finally found his way back to the top step of the podium.
