This past weekend the race in Ulverton marked the second to last round of the 2015 Rockstar Energy Drink Motocross Nationals. This series has had loads of excitement at each and every round from coast to coast, and round 9 was no different. Whether it was Jeremy Medaglia’s thrilling victory in the second MX2 moto, or Colton Facciotti’s moto sweep in the MX1 class, the race in Ulverton had a little bit of everything. As he’s been all season long, James Lissimore was in Ulverton to capture it all for this weeks Behind The Lens.
After sitting out last weekend to recover from a practice crash. Dylan Wright came back strong in Ulverton and finished a very impressive third overall.
The Ulverton track is one of the most beautiful in the Country. This is the view looking down to the straight after the first turn.
Few riders have dominated a season the way Kaven Benoit has in 2015. After some early series resistance from Jimmy Decotis, and recent battles with Jeremy Medaglia. Benoit has hung tough and on Sunday he clinched the 2015 MX2 title.
The second moto battle between Jeremy Medaglia and Kaven Benoit was one of the best of the summer. In the end, it was the Honda mounted Medaglia who took home the win.
Even though Medaglia won the second moto battle, Benoit wound end up winning the MX2 series war in front of his faithful hometown fans.
Although he doesn’t smile very often at the track, the usually serious Jeremy Medaglia was all smiles after his hard fought second moto win in Ulverton.
Since his almost second moto win at round 5 in Gopher Dunes, Jimmy Decotis hasn’t been the same rider. We’re not sure what it is, but hopefully Jimmy gets it all sorted out this weekend at the final round in Walton.

After taking a round off last weekend to regroup, Seth Rarick showed up in Ulverton and raced the MX1 class. Seth was fast all day and could’ve had two top ten finishes if he just had a little luck.
After a very impressive second overall last weekend in Moncton, Cole Thompson was again battling for the lead at round 9. Cole would go on to finish to finish 4th overall in Ulverton.
Our 2013 MX1 Champion Brett Metcalfe must be very frustrated with his season so far. If you factor in the points he’s lost due to his two DNF’s this summer, he would be your MX1 points leader heading into the final round.
