Double Podium For KTM in Ulverton

Sunday August 10, 2014

Royal Distributing Fox Canada KTM points leader Kaven Benoit rolled into Quebec with confidence of having his fans lining the picturesque track. The points leader qualified great on his KTM 250 SX. Benoit pulled a huge Royal Distributing holeshot in Moto 1 and laid down some unbelievably fast lap times which allowed the Fox Canada backed rider to stretch out a big lead over the entire field. The Quebec native settled into a comfortable pace and crossed the finish line with a convincing lead grabbing a ton of points towards the championship in the process. After that dominant performance Benoit lined up in the gate ready to battle for another win. Benoit raced off the start and was passed into the lead only to run into some on track drama from his competitor. Picking his race machine up quickly and getting back on the track Benoit proved he is an incredibly composed rider. Despite the atmosphere of adversity Kaven soldiered through and claimed 4th in the Moto earning him 2nd overall for the day. Royal Distributing Fox KTM’s Benoit carries a 41 point lead going into the final round in Walton next weekend.

In the MX1 class Royal Distributing Fox Canada KTM’s Tyler Medaglia was looking for redemption after a somewhat quiet weekend in Moncton. Qualifying went decent for the Fox Canada backed rider and Tyler rode very respectably in the first Moto finishing in 6th place. He and the KTM team knew he had more in him and after a key suspension adjustment Tyler lit it up on the rough Ulverton track and was upfront early in Moto 2. Flying on his SSS suspension tuned KTM 450SX-F Medaglia flew into the lead and didn’t look back taking the checkered flag with the coveted win. His win gave him and KTM a third place overall in the MX1 class for the he day. KTM’s Tyler Medaglia impressed everyone but surprised no one with his premier class victory and he will no doubt look to carry this positive momentum forward to the final round this upcoming weekend. KTM’s Medaglia now has a solid grasp on the final podium step for the MX1 Championship.

The Royal Distributing Fox Canada KTM team will look to continue their winning ways in one weeks time when the 2014 CMRC Motocross Nationals culminate in Walton, Ontario.
