As the 2020 Monster Energy Supercross Series made its way to Angel Stadium for the final time this year, everyone was still excited over Ken Roczen’s big win the week before. Many wondered in fact if his St. Louis win was just the tip of the iceberg and would Roczen be able to keep winning? With this being the third round of the series, the riders who perhaps came into the 2020 series still searching for the proper bike set-up, now had everything sorted out. One of those riders who didn’t look comfortable at the opening round was Eli Tomac, but with two races under his belt he looked primed and ready to win Round 3 in Anaheim. Another rider who had yet found success in 2020 was defending 250SX West Champion Dylan Ferrnadis. The Star Racing Yamaha rider had suffered some bad luck throughout the opening two rounds and with only a handful of races remaining in this short series, it was time for him to start winning. Well both of these riders rode aggressive throughout the day and night at A2 and when it was all said and done, they ended up standing on top of their respective podiums. It was an exciting evening of racing and James Lissimore was once again on hand to capture it all.
After two weekends of running up front in the 450SX class, Justin Barcia finished 9th at Anaheim 2 and lost the red plate.
Chris Blose looked good on the technical Anaheim 2 track and ended up in 19th in the 450SX main event.
Adam Cianciarulo was fast all day in qualifying but could not duplicate that speed in the main event. However, after three rounds the rookie sits 5th overall in the 450SX standings.
Even though he didn’t win in Anaheim, 250SX West points leader Justin Cooper rode smart in the main event and ended up second overall.
We all know what happened to Christian Craig in the main event, but before that he was riding better than he ever has.
We all love aggressive riding and in SX it’s a must if you want to win, but Ferrandis was a little reckless in the 250SX West main event on Saturday night.
With Chad Reed racing the final SX series of his career, Jett Lawrence is the new win at all costs Australian hero.
