Press Release: July 1st 2016

Team Canada Manager Kourtney Lloyd appoints Team Canada Riders for 2016 MXON

With the highly anticipated announcement of Team Canada for the Motocross des Nations in Maggiorra, Italy September 2016, I am happy to present to you Team Canada for the Motocross of Nations 2016. This has not been a task that I have taken lightly and I am honoured to have had the chance to pick 3 special riders for Team Canada. I am confident that the riders chosen will bring strength to the team as well as represent Canada in a positive and professional way. I want to take this opportunity to thank them all for trusting me to lead them through this journey. I also would like to thank the CMA, the fans, sponsors, manufacturers and industry alike for putting the trust in me for 2016.

Kaven Benoit- Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Conseil, Quebec

“Je suis vraiment fier et honore de pouvoir representer Team Canada pour la 3e fois. Jàttend le mois de Septembre avec impatience”

Tyler Medaglia- Brookfield, Nova Scotia

“I am honoured to be selected to represent Team Canada at MXDN this fall. I have put alot of work into this season and know what it takes to compete at this level. I know what I have to do in order to perform at my full potential in whatever class I am selected for and will put every ounce of my energy into representing our country at its fullest.”

Shawn Maffenbeier- Swift Current , Saskatchewan

” It is a dream come true to represent my country at the Motocross des Nations. I have dreamt about the opportunity since I was kid”

Cole Thompson will be listed as the alternate rider for 2016, due to Coles grueling schedule between AX, US Supercross and Canadian Pro Nationals he could not fully commit to another race, I respect Coles decision and want to thank him for agreeing to be the alternate if needed for this year.

With the arrival of the newest member of the Facciotti family arriving on the same week as the MXON, Colton gracefully announced his removal from the team for 2016. I want to thank Colton for participating in the discussions and meetings to help guide me with his vast experience at Des Nations. I wish Colton, Jocelyn and big brother Keagan the best and my heartfelt Congratulations.

“I am so appreciative for this honour to Manage Team Canada in the sport that I love. It is so special to be apart of Canadian Motocross History and to have my name in the same category as those that have been before me. I would like to not only share this amazing accomplishment with my family and friends but also with the women who are breaking barriers in this sport. I want to thank the riders for putting trust in me to put together a solid program for them. To Adam “Stu” Robinson for coming aboard as my Crew Chief, your encouragement has been crucial to the success of the program up to this point. Andre Laurin and OTSFF thank you for all of the support, this would be impossible without you” -Kourtney Lloyd, Team Manager
