First Canadian to finish Rally on 2 AND 4 wheels!
Friday January 25, 2013. St-Bruno, QC – Last year, Patrick Beaule helped navigate ALDO Racing’s truck to the Dakar finish line. In 2013, in his very first attempt at Dakar on two-wheels, Beaule finished an incredible 62nd out of 196 starters! While other Canadians have finished Dakar on 2 or 4 wheels, KTM’s Beaule is the first Canadian to have completed the world’s toughest rally on both.
In charge of Eastern Canadian sales for KTM Canada, Beaule is a multi-time Canadian Enduro Champion, Corduroy Champion and ISDE medalist. Now he adds a second Dakar finish to his already impressive resume.
“The entire KTM Canada family is extremely proud of Patrick’s accomplishment!” says KTM Canada’s General Manager, Florian Burguet. “At a professional level, he closed 2012 with excellent sales results. On a personal level, he started 2013 with what will probably be the highlight of his off-road racing career. Hat’s off!”
At the Dakar finish podium, Beaule surprised everyone by proposing to his longtime girlfriend, Frederique Saindon, in front of thousands and a television audience. “I came here to the Dakar and met my goal of finishing well and establishing a Canadian record,” said Beaule, in a news release by Flanny Media. “Along the way, there were many difficult moments and they make you realize what’s most important in life. Spending the rest of my life with Frede is one of them!”
