The world is moving at a very fast pace and there is only time to rest. Now more than ever with the elevation of all alternative sports you must be capable to overcome hard falls. New training methods have been implemented that better suit the competitors’ needs for related sport movements and agility. Courses are more technical and going big is an understatement. We continue to hear competitor accidents during training sessions and/or races that are extremely severe on a regular basis. The past incidences with Trey Canard and Ryan Morais and the death of skier Sarah Burke is tragic, but these are the risks athletes are faced with to keep up with the progression of their individual sport. It is crucial that you train your body and mind to be well aware and able to make fast, split second decisions that may save yourself from disaster and injury.

These sport specific methods will help you keep more fit and flexible for the upcoming season, as it is important to change up your training routine and continually challenge yourself.

Industry check-in

Dead Fly Racing’s Freeman Brothers came to me at the Toronto bike show to tell me of a new company looking to break into the moto industry. They are able to work with metals and moulds for plastics, and are looking to expand and better update some products for dirt bikes. With a basic new design of the “Triangle Stand”, Dead Fly Racing is ready to start with perfecting the basics, and looking to advance and innovate their new product line with their first year to come. The Triangle Stand available seems to have the best fit for the 60cc bike models. It features an indestructible steel construction and designer plate for logos and your number. Check out the t-shirt line and look out for more to come! www.deadflyracing.com

Indy Dealer Expo Feb. 17,18,19  www.dealerexpo.com

We are getting ready for the upcoming dealer expo in Indianapolis. This show takes weeks to prepare for as all the major companies in the Motocross Industry are there to exhibit new products and discuss 2012 plans. MXP, being the leading motocross media source for Canada, will be exhibiting under our blue Motocross Performance tent and encourage attending enthusiasts or potential industry clients to stop by booth 1936 for an updated Media Kit, a free magazine and sticker. MXP always has something exciting going on under the tent whether it’s our great personalities or showcasing videos from past National MX races from SportsNet or random MXP Film shows.

After the Indy dealer expo, on behalf of MXP, I will be heading to the Montreal Motorcycle Show www.salonmotomontreal.com to help support our Quebec CMRC sector in Canada. I look forward to increasing our Quebec exposure as we recently increased our distribution in the province. I look forward to seeing the Xtreme Miller Sport crew www.xtrememillersport.com and Marco Dubé of MDdistributions. www.mddistributions.com
