It is here, the start of the 2013 Canadian Pro Motocrosss season. It is so hard to tell who is really going well, who has prepared, who is ready to take the Championship. What we do know is a lot of questions will be answered by Sunday night.
Josh Demuth is an inspiration. Josh raced the Canadian Nationals for several years, and what you got was a cool, fun guy who loved to ride his bike. Last fall a nasty crash took his leg, and left Josh for yet another time picking up the pieces of his career. The photo below is from a recent race. Wish we could all have his courage.
One thing, and this is the benefit of being on MXSports media list, is seeing the amount of effort they are putting into pre-event and post-event coverage. Especially in video. Not to go all nerd, but video is exploding in the media. In 2012, video on mobile devices was up 70% and video has become THE medium on the internet.

It would take over 6 million years to watch the amount of video that will cross global IP networks each month in 2016. Every second, 1.2 million minutes of video content will cross the network in 2016. Globally, Internet video traffic will be 55 percent of all consumer Internet traffic in 2016, up from 51 percent in 2011. This does not include video exchanged through peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing. Video exceeded half of global consumer Internet traffic by year-end 2011. The sum of all forms of video (TV, video on demand [VoD], Internet, and P2P) will be approximately 86 percent of global consumer traffic by 2016. Internet video to TV doubled in 2011. Internet video to TV will continue to grow at a rapid pace, increasing six fold by 2016. Internet video to TV traffic will be 12 percent of consumer Internet video traffic in 2016, up from 8 percent in 2011. Video-on-demand traffic will triple by 2016. The amount of VoD traffic in 2016 will be equivalent to 4 billion DVDs per month. High-definition video-on-demand surpassed standard definition by the end of 2011. By 2016, high-definition Internet video will comprise 79 percent of VoD.

Here is a rider people are forgetting…..Josh Clark. Clark is riding the entire MX2 series. In 2012, he was running top 5 pace in MX1 and won the New Jersey Kawasaki Race Of Champions. He is going to be good.
We were up at Motopark, for yet another cold and wet SWO day (what is up with the weather?). The guys at were all looking for indoor jobs to stay warm. Iain let us in on the project they have going on up stairs in their barn. A BMX bike park (think joy ride much smaller) is being built. Check out the picture Iain shared on twitter from it. Pretty bold move by Dylan Kaelin this week. For whatever reasons, he and KTM parted ways. DK went out and got himself a Yamaha 450F and is moving from the MX2 class to MX1. We know DK can ride the 450F good, he’s smooth on the power, in shape and maybe this could be a good move. However, we also think this was the year he would hit the box in the small bike class. Time will tell but it is a pretty big step for the Grand Bend native.
