Matt Wellumson’s St Louis Supercross Photo Report

The Edwards Jones Dome in St Louis was built for Supercross and the riders love racing in it.

With all the teams parking inside the massive indoor pit area, the crowd got to see their favourite riders in perfect comfort.

The St Louis track featured two things that the riders loved, a wide first turn and great dirt.

It was great to see Trey Canard smiling and back at the races. In St Louis he rode smart and finished a very strong fifth.

After months of speculation Mike Alessi has finally confirmed that he will be lining up in Canada this summer.

With a small mishap late in the main event Ryan Dungey lost some more valuable points to Ryan Villopoto. He now sits 35 points back.

Ever since Daytona we’ve seen a different Justin Barcia. In St Louis he was once again very fast and found himself on the podium for the second race in a row.

Cole Thompson gives the camera a perfect fly by during practice.

Cole backed up his fifth last weekend in Toronto with a strong sixth on Saturday.

Eli Tomac was another rider coming back from injuries in St Louis, he rode well and finished ironically right behind the also returning Trey Canard.

After winning his very first Supercross earlier this season, Martin Davalos is well on his way to winning his first championship.

Justin Barcia was obviously relaxed in St Louis as he gave us a little goon riding during practice.

Perhaps a little tired from his first full Supercross season, Ken Roczen has fallen a little off the pace in the last few weeks.

The fans in St Louis went crazy for Kevin Windham during his opening ceremonies demonstration.

The KTMJRSX race was once again was on the track in St Louis. This young rider is no doubt dreaming that one day he’ll be moving up to the bigger KTM’s.

After a good battle with Stewart during the early laps of the main event, Villopoto settled into second and took home the points instead of the victory.

Ryan Villopoto is showing everyone how to ride smart as he goes for his fourth Supercross Championship in a row.

James Stewart has been on quite a roll lately, if he can keep up his feverish pace he may be able to take the points battle down to the final round in Las Vegas.
