MX1 final Moto report

It is a clean sweep for Leading Edge Monster Energy Kawasaki team in Calgary. Brett Metcalfe completed the 1-1 sweep handing the team their fourth moto win of the day in Calgary. It did not come easy to Metcalfe who started the second moto outside the top 10 and was forced to work hard to get to the lead.

Cycle North Honda rider Ross Johnson collect his second hole shot of the day and won $1200.00 from Royal Distributing for taking both hole shots in the MX1.  Rockstar Yamaha rider Bobby Kiniry quickly moved to the lead and tried to sprint away from the pack.

Yamaha rider Jeremy Medaglia, Teddy Maier, Ross Johnson and Morgan Burger became locked in a fight over second position. A third of the way into the moto, Metcalfe arrived on the scene for the battle. Metcalfe began knifing his way through the group,  battling each position until finally reaching Kiniry for the lead battle.

Metcalfe went to work on Kinry and eventually found a line around the Yamaha rider. Immediately he tried pushed his lap times to stretch out the lead, but Kiniry latched on. In third, Teddy Maier picked up some lines and closed in on the front two to become part of the battle. The gap between first and third closed to within 2 seconds, but Metcalfe was able to stay out of striking distance of the two pursuers and take the win.

Jeremy Medaglia held onto fourth followed by Sewer Rat Racing Morgan Burger who crossed the line fifth.
