Throwback Thursday- 2014 Toronto Supercross

Two years ago, over 50’000 people jammed into the Roger’s Center to watch James Stewart put on one of the most impressive displays of riding ever seen. Not only did he win, but he did by coming from a 16th place start and passing some of the World’s best supercross riders with little trouble. It was definitely an impressive show by James, who knew that he win that night would be one his last wins on a dirt bike? Hopefully the capacity crowd this year will be treated to the same kind of incredible action that we did in 2014. Here is a brief look back at the night in late March of 2014. These photos are by James Lissimore and Virgil Knapp.

Two years ago it was rookie 450 rider Ken Roczen who pulled the holeshot in the main event.

With Ryan Villopoto suffering from a severe case of food poisoning, he was no match for James Stewart as he steam rolled through the pack.

Cole Thompson was an obvious fan favourite that night inside the Roger’s Center, and he used those cheers to ride to a season high 5th place in the 250SX East main event.

The track two years was very soft and full of ruts. However, those tough conditions didn’t seem to bother James Stewart.

Justin Barcia was on a Honda two years ago and was very fast in Toronto. He led the main event for awhile before getting reeled in by the #7 train.

Ross ‘Rollerball’ Pederson was honored two years in Toronto with the Legends of Canadian Motocross.

Two years ago James Stewart’s eyes had just one focus. He needs to find this type of focus again in 2016.

During the KJSC race two years, Preston Masciangelo dominated the main event and qualified for the season finale in Las Vegas.

While the other kids were chatting to each other, Preston was all focused on the task at hand.

See you all on Saturday night at this famous Toronto landmark.
