TLD GasGas SSR took on Round 2 of the Triple Crown Series hosted in Drumhellar, Alberta at
Dorva MX. The boys worked hard to put in some solid rides with the west coast swing of the
series coming to an end shortly. The 3 moto format seen at round 2 would result in a busy day
for the entire team.
MX2
TLD GasGas SSR MX2 rider Tyler Gibbs would qualify in 12th spot to kick off the day. Tyler
would then go back and get himself prepped for a long day consisting of three 15 minute sprint
motos. Moto 1 would see Gibbs get off to a rough start where he would be positioned near the
top 10. Gibbs would work quickly to position himself in the top 7 after the first few laps.
Unfortunately Gibbs would go down in a corner putting himself into 17th. With the 15 minute
format Gibbs started to run out of time as he climbed his way back towards the top 10. Gibbs
would finish moto 1 in 14th.
Moto 2 would see the #22 get off to another rough start where he would sit in 16th at the green
flag. Gibbs would ride consistently and position himself in 15th where he would eventually finish.
Moto 3 would see Gibbs get a good start within the top 10. Tyler would sit in 8th for the first few
laps of the moto. A few small mistakes would cost Gibbs a few spots and would cross the
checkers in 12th.
Tyler would go 15-15-12 for 14th overall on the day.
MX1
MX1 rider Christopher Blackmer had another good day at round 2 for the 2022 Triple Crown
Series. Moto 1 would see Blackmer get off to a good start. By lap 3 Blackmer positioned himself
in 5th place. On the final laps of the moto Blackmer would make a pass into 4th where he would
cross the checkers.
Moto 2 would see Blackmer pull another holeshot on the riders in the 450 field. Blackmer would
round the first two laps in 5th position. On lap 3 Blackmer would get passed which put him into
6th but quickly rebounded back into 5th where he would put in consistent laps and cross the
checkers in 5th.
Moto 3 would see Blackmer with another great start. Chris had the holeshot but ended up
sliding out and managed to save himself and salvage a 3rd place start. Chris would battle hard
where he situated himself in 5th. Chris would give up a spot on the 3rd lap where he would put
himself in 6th. With the overall in mind Chris would ride out the rest of the moto consistently to a
6th place finish at the checkers.
Chris would go 5-5-6 for 5th overall on the day.
