This past Sunday was the opening of Gopher Dunes; finally we are able to ride outside in Ontario. The place was packed! So nice to see all the MX families again and catch up. The kids’ track was tough; mud, ruts and sand. It was a huge change from riding indoors. Preston was loving it. He rode for a solid four hours on both the 50 and 65. Even Justin got out on his bike for some much needed practice. Both could barely walk the next morning when they got out of bed, haha. I can understand Justin being a little stiff, but I was shocked that Preston was complaining of sore legs. Great workout! This Sunday is the first race of the season. I’m praying the weather is wrong and we don’t get the rain in the forecast.
Brooklyn impressed us on Sunday as well. She decided to start riding her pedal bike. She’s had it for a while, but loved her strider and never wanted to ride it. However, she got on it on Sunday and the strider is history. She’s a little pro already. Riding everywhere and loving it. She’s giving daddy hope that a dirt bike may be in her future. Haha. I don’t think my heart can handle watching two kids race.
One of Preston’s newest sponsors is Fly Racing USA. We received our first order last week, it was like Christmas. If you are in the market for some new gear, check out their website. Preston can’t wait to try his out on the track.
I’d just like to say thanks again for all the comments, messages and phone calls congratulating Preston on his win at the KTM Junior Supercross Challenge. Winning and the media coverage associated with the race definitely made his name known in the amateur world. We had messages and phone calls from people we hadn’t even heard of before. We truly are thankful to have had this opportunity.
I have been slacking a little with writing, and I actually had messages asking where my blog was! Thanks for all your support and reading these. It makes my day! Thanks MXP for publishing! Have a great weekend everyone, and racers be careful out there on the track 🙂
