Yamaha Motor Canada Presents Behind the Lens- 2018 Atlanta Supercross

As we witnessed this past weekend in Atlanta, it’s always exciting when the Monster Energy Supercross Series welcomes in a brand new venue. Built to replace the famous Georgia Dome, Mercedes Benz Stadium is a marvel of engineering and technology. It was constructed to host some of North America’s biggest sports events, including the original extreme sport, Supercross. For last weekend’s Atlanta SX, this new building was a perfect host to this incredible series. The only issue for the riders and teams was the very long walk from the track to the indoor paddock, some 20 minutes away. However, a little added exercise never hurts anybody and certainly didn’t seem to tire the riders out for the night program.
With the second Triple Crown event of the 2018 season, the three shorter main events in both classes definitely added up to more excitement on the technical track. All three main events provided some great racing and the fans were happy to see both Justin Brayton win a 450 main event, as well as Chad Reed grab his first top ten overall finish of the year. The racing in Atlanta was superb as always, and James Lissimore was on hand to take these impressive photos for this week’s Yamaha Motor Canada Behind the Lens.
