Yamaha Motor Canada Presents Behind the Lens from 2018 Triple Crown SXTour

Over the course of the past two months, the 2018 Rockstar Energy Triple Crown SXTour has visited both Montreal, QC and Delaware, ON for the series’ opening two rounds. In these races, fans have watched series favourites Cole Thompson, Colton Facciotti and Matt Goerke all battle for race wins. As the riders get ready for Round 3 this weekend in Quebec City, Cole Thompson holds a six point lead in the SXTour 450 class, and an eleven point lead for the overall Triple Crown Series. To celebrate the first two rounds of this first ever SXTour series, we take a look back at some James Lissimore photos from Montreal and Delaware.

Cole Thompson has been on a roll indoors all season long. He now leads the Triple Crown Series by 11 points.

In Delaware, Facciotti and Goerke had a few good battles under the lights.

Indoors in 2018, Facciotti has been very fast and with two rounds remaining he sits in second overall.

The setting sun in Delaware definitely made for some cool photos.

Tyler Medaglia and Shawn Maffenbeier show James Lissimore their good sides.

After winning the MXTour 250 Pro/AM Championship this summer, Jess Pettis has been unbeatable.

It’s almost time to drop the gate this weekend in Quebec City.

The track in Delaware had a few technical sections and was entertaining for the fans.

Racing in his first ever Pro Canadian SX, Jake Tricco was fast and smooth all night long.

Unfortunately Kaven Benoit’s night didn’t last very long in Montreal as a heat race crash gave him a thumb injury. Soon after this race Benoit announced his retirement from pro motocross.

It was great to see some International flavour in Montreal.

The Montreal SX was also the sight of the quietest backflip ever in FMX.

After a decent summer outdoors, Matt Goerke has been the fastest rider in the opening rounds of the SXTour. Maybe this weekend in QC he’ll be able to steal a victory?

Getting a good start indoors is a must if you want to get on the podium. So far Jess Pettis has been the king of starts in the 250 class.

Newly signed OTSFF Yamaha rider Phil Nicoletti should be very good this weekend in Quebec City as he gets more and more comfortable on his new Yamaha.

Olympic Stadium was looking good as the SXTour arrived in Montreal.

Cole Thompson rode smooth in Montreal and was the top finishing Canadian rider.

Inside the Big O’ the track was tight and technical for the opening round of the 2018 Rockstar Energy Triple Crown SXTour.

In a very cool move, the paddock in Montreal was located on the floor on the stadium.

Fans in Montreal were excited to see Malcolm Stewart ride off with a dominating win in the 450 class.
