Yamaha Motor Canada Presents Photo Album From Gopher Dunes
After a long winter and a wet cool spring Mother Nature finally smiled upon us last weekend at Gopher Dunes and provided perfect weather for the opening round of the 2022 AMO Racing OPC Series. With open practice on Friday to kick things off and then AMO Racing’s new Saturday/Sunday race schedule, the weekend couldn’t have gone any better. This is the earliest the Ontario race season has began in two years and judging by the 750 plus entries everyone was more than happy for the gate to drop. With full gates in multiple classes like the 50cc GP, 250 Junior, and Supermini, AMO Racing has picked up where they left off last year providing every rider and every family with a quality product. It was great weekend of racing and now the series moves to Auburn Hills for Round 2. Here are a few Sunday photos from Mickmedia.
The Gopher Dunes track was as rough and sandy as ever for the opening AMO Racing round of 2022. Dylan Rempel dominated the Junior classes at the opening round and soon he will be moving to the Pro-Am class. You just can’t put a price on seeing kids smiling like this. The Brothers Gravel were very fast on Sunday. The racing in the 65cc class was some of the best of the weekend. The skill level with our young riders is very high these days. The sound of two-strokes on the rough and sandy Gopher Dunes was pretty amazing. Everyone was happy to be back at the races. There is always work to done when you’re at the track. The Cobra kids were flying at Gopher Dunes! When the kids weren’t racing in the sand they were busy playing in the sand. TJ Scott was on the gas at Gopher Dunes and won both Intermediate classes. There is something to be said about good sportsmanship both on and off of the track. After a long winter it was great to see the Ontario race season kick off in style at Gopher Dunes
