The Motocross of Nations is the most important
event on the World Motocross calendar. The
MXON is the “Olympics” of motocross and
as such is attended by most countries with
motocross programs. A record 41 countries
entered 3-rider teams in Germany in 2013. The
68th MXON takes place in Kegums, Latvia on
September 28, 2014.
We’re fast approaching the date above for MXON
and Team Canada MX is in full swing. Team
manager Ryan Gauld shares, “After the western
leg of the Rockstar Energy Drink Nationals, the
moto schools we put on, and all the support from
the industry thus far I’m happy to share that we
have reached the $15,000.00 mark. The support
has been good, but not great for all the programs
we’ve done to this point. It’s crunch time and
plans are in effect to reach our goal and make
Latvia happen for Team Canada.”
Over the next six weekends of racing heading into the Parts Canada TransCan, Team Canada MX will
be running the following programs to help raise funds:
•Each Rockstar Energy Drink Motocross National will have a 50/50 draw on Pro Day
•www.canadianmotoshow.com has a program that if you buy a photo from Nanaimo,
Kamloops, or Calgary, the funds go to support the team. Visit them to find out more.
•An EBay auction is being set up with amazing items for sale including: Dusty Klatt and Blair
Morgan helmets from their MXON efforts, Ricky Carmichael, Cole Thompson, Bobby Kiniry,
Matt Goerke, Tyler Villopoto, Dusty Klatt, and Brett Metcalfe signed jersey’s. This link will be
out very soon for people to support Team Canada.
• The Wednesday through Saturday at Parts Canada Trans Can will have a draw each day
with products worth $300 or gift certificates (same value) for people to try and win in return
for their support.
As you can see the effort is being put in place to ensure we make it to Latvia in September. Our goal
of raising around $35,000 should be attainable. Each person that donates any dollar amount either
through the Team Canada MXON Fund online, or from an event on our MXON calendar, or emails
money to email@example.com, will get entered in the draw to win a great prize pack from the
companies below that support Team Canada MX in September. Any dollar amount gets you in the
draw and will help us chase the dream of putting Team Canada MX on the world stage.
Every little bit counts.
We can’t thank the people that have supported, gone out of their way, or donated thus far. It’s been a
Canadian style effort, but we have room to go. If you’re at the events mentioned above, or have time to
email, or hit that Go Fund me link, then please do. This is important for the growth of Canadian motocross
from amateur to pro. We don’t want to be just our class, we want to be world class!!
