Yamaha Motor Canada Presents Behind the Lens From Riverglade Raceway

As the riders and teams arrived at Riveglade MX Park, one of the most storied tracks in Canada, everyone was very excited to take in the final weekend of their 2016 East Coast adventure. Points leaders Cole Thompson and Davi Millsaps were also excited to take to the track to get one step closer to wrapping up their first professional outdoor championships. After four long and very hot motos on the perfectly prepared track, KTM riders Dakota Alix and Davi Millsaps stood on the top step of the podium in their respective classes. As the series now moves back west to Deschambault for Round 9, we take a look back on everything that happened at Riverglade MX Park through the lens of James Lissimore.

After a tough weekend in Pleasant Valley, Mike Alessi found himself battling for the podium at Riverglade Raceway.

Since he joined the MX2 series at Gopher Dunes, Dakota Alix has ran up front in every MX2 moto. In Moncton, he was able to hold on and take his first overall win of 2016.

After a mysterious 7th in the opening MX1 moto, Matt Goerke battled hard to finish moto 2 in second and take a very well earned third overall.

Dressed in some very cool 2017 Fly Racing Gear, Shawn Maffenbeier had a day that I’m sure he’d like to forget in Moncton. His 2-8 moto score put him even further behind points leader Cole Thompson after eight rounds.

For the first time this season, Davi Millsaps had some orange company with him on the podium.

Hometown hero Tyler Medaglia and Brett Metcalfe had a great battle for fourth in the opening MX1 moto.

For the first time in a few weeks Davi Millsaps was healthy and enjoying the track. His happiness was very evident as he dominated both MX1 motos and extended his points lead.

After a disappointing 6th in the opening MX2 moto, Cole Thompson came back in moto two and destroyed the field.

The MX2 boys spray the bubbly after two hard fought motos at Riverglade Raceway.

Davi Millsaps showed no mercy to his teammate on the opening lap of the first MX1 moto.

Dylan Wright missed out on his second overall win of the season by just one point in the MX2 class.

During the first half of the second MX1 moto, Yamaha teammates Matt Goerke and Brett Metcalfe battled hard for every inch of the rough Riverglade track.

When it was all said and done, Goerke won the battle against his teammate and took third overall.

When the gate dropped on the second MX2 moto, Cole Thompson rocketed to the front of the pack and never looked back.

After three very successful weekends where he finished in second overall, Brett Metcalfe struggled in Moncton and finished in a disappointing 6th overall.
