Kaven Benoit Holds Onto the Points Lead after Round 2 and Tyler Medaglia Finishes 4th In Kamloops!

The 2nd round of the 2014 Rockstar Energy Motocross Nationals is a wrap. It was another beautiful weekend in Kamloops, British Columbia for the Royal Distributing Fox KTM Racing Team. The MX2 Class was action packed with numerous passes and crashes. Kaven Benoit finished 2nd overall and Tyler Medaglia finished with a solid 4th overall.

Kaven Benoit had a great start to the race as he moved into the 2nd position off the start. He raced for the lead with Vince Friese and later would succumb to a crash early on in the race. The crash would put him in 15th place, he quickly got up and begin passing rider after rider to put him into the top 5. Kaven was charging. With two solid finishes Benoit would go 4-3 for second overall. Kaven Benoit increases his points lead while still holding onto the red number plate going into round three in Calgary at Wild Rose MX Park. “I can’t wait to head to the east coast”, says Kaven. No surprise as he often posts better results on the east coast where he is closer to home.

Tyler Medaglia was impressive in the MX1 Class battling with Alessi, Facciotti, Maier, Kiniry and Hill. Tyler held his own this past weekend and went 3-6, finishing a solid 4th overall. Tyler has improved considerably from the opening round in Nanaimo where he finished 7th. Expect him to keep improving as the season continues. Tyler was flying this weekend and with a few more laps he could have potentially caught the leaders. It was another great weekend for the Royal Distributing Fox KTM Racing Team. Look for the team to improve yet again in Calgary this coming weekend.
