Don't Miss

Devils Lake MX National #8 Racer Dylan Kaelin Out for 2015

Amateur Champion Jake Streichert to Fill the Loss

Monday May 11, 2015 – No words can express the loss of anything. When you put as much effort and work into a motocross team to have a simple accident happen and take out our 450 rider is just part of the job. “Unfortunately Dylan Kaelin will miss the 2015 season,” states Team Owner Trevor Cerny. “This year was coming together perfectly. Dylan had been down south to train and looking better than ever. The team was excited to get this season underway, but a small slip up has cost Dylan his season. Devils Lake MX is truly saddened on the luck that Dylan has endured in his career. We fully support him and his comeback for 2016 and wish him a speedy recovery. We’re filling his spot with Jake Streichert who this past year won an Intermediate Amateur Championship at TransCan. He has been training all winter with Phil Nicoletti so he is focused and ready for his pro debut. “

“It’s part of racing,” says Kaelin.

“It happened so fast,” shares Dylan Kaelin. “We were shooting a simple left hand turn where I just pushed the front end and slide the rear tire over the berm going really slow. I felt the all too familiar knee pop. Except this time it was my good left knee. I went to the hospital and we came to the conclusion I tore my MCL & ACL. I’ll be on crutches for a while and will be getting surgery on one knee, followed by my other knee so I can be a 100% in the future. We all know the risks of riding every time we gear up. I’m thankful it wasn’t worse. Knees heal and I will make a full recovery in the future. I’d like to thank everyone at Devils Lake MX for the support, as well as my family and friends and of course all of my sponsors. I wouldn’t be where I am today without your support! Thank you, and see you at the track!”

Devils Lake MX will continue with Blake Savage in the MX2 class as well Jake Streichert in MX1. This is a huge loss to our team, but we will battle through and fight hard with our other great racers under the tent in 2015.
