Supercross Montréal reveals amateur race details and announces Ben Milot freestyle show

Montreal, Tuesday July 24, 2018 – With less than two months to go until Supercross Montréal brings motocross back to the Olympic Stadium this September 15, event organizer GESTEV has confirmed that there’ll be room for 35 amateur riders from Quebec and Ontario to race in the 250 class. The organizers are also thrilled to announce that the event will feature a special freestyle motocross show courtesy of hotshot rider Ben Milot as a special edition of his Milot Land Tour

An amateur qualify system is in place across four key events in Quebec and Ontario. These events will determine if riders qualify for the amateur support program at Supercross Montréal September 14, 2018. “Because this is an one-day-only event, the amateur program will only have two classes racing here at the Olympic Stadium in 2018,” said Hubert Rousseau of Challenge Québec, organizer of the amateur program at Supercross Montréal. Only the top 20 250cc Intermediate and top 15 Women racers will qualify for the supercross. Riders will be able to qualify through one of four events. For 250cc Intermediate racers the top 5 overall from each event qualify.

August 2–4, 2018 :  Eastern Canadian Amateur National (ECAN) in Deschambault, Québec.

August 13–18, 2018 : Walton TransCan Grand National Championships (GNC) in Walton, Ontario.

August 26, 2018 : XTown in Mirabel, Québec.

Riders who qualify through the ECAN or GNC will be required to pre enter online at  www.supercrossmtl.com  and  will have their spot reserved until August 31, 2018.

The last qualifier will be held in Quebec on September 2, 2018 at GAS-Issoudun . After that last event, riders will be required to pre enter online too and will have their spot reserved until September 6, 2018.   The same events will serve as the qualifier for the Women’s race, with the top 15 riders being selected (Top 5 at Deschambault, top 4 at Walton, top 3 at XTown and top 3 at GAS-Issoudun).

A special edition of the Milot Land Tour

Ben Milot is the mastermind behind the freestyle show that will wow Supercross Montréal spectators as five riders show off their skills, including renowned professional freestyle riders Mat Rebeaud and Kyle Demelo. Of course, Ben Milot himself will be joining them on the ramp, as will two other riders from the Milot Land Tour. “The Olympic Stadium is place of legend in the motocross world and I’m stoked to be a part of the big comeback this year by presenting a special edition of the Milot Land Tour for freestyle fans,” said Ben Milot. “With the caliber of riders we have lined up, we’re going to put on one heck of a show for the audience!”

Remember, Supercross Montréal is a special edition event in the Rockstar Energy Triple Crown Series on top of the three regular events on the tour. Talk about a way to launch the fall motocross season in style, with no fewer than 40 riders taking to the start line in the 450 and 250 class grand finals.
