Supercross Montréal presented by Honda in collaboration with Vidéotron Motocross charges back to the Olympic Stadium!

Montreal, Saturday, September 15, 2018 – All eyes were on the high-octane action at the Olympic Stadium tonight as motocross racing made a return to Montreal in front of an adrenaline-fuelled crowd. It was an action-packed evening of racing with hotshot riders from around the world as well as local athletes from Quebec and across Canada keeping the crowd on the edge of their seats for every second of Supercross Montréal presented by Honda in collaboration with Vidéotron, a special edition event in the Rockstar Triple Crown Energy Series. “Judging by the response we’ve seen tonight from motocross fans, as well as the riders who took on this rack built by Jetwerx International that has nothing to envy the best courses in the States, Supercross was long overdue in coming to Montreal!” said Patrice Drouin, president of event producer GESTEV. “For this inaugural edition we’re very proud to have brought on board so many big names in the sport for this grand return of motocross to the Olympic Stadium.”

After winning brilliantly the three rounds on his Honda CRF450R, battling hard against Americans Matt Goerke (3rd place) and Colt Nichols (2nd place), Malcolm Stewart (USA) won the overall, showing his skill and agility. Canadian Cole Thompson gave all he got to finish 4th overall, ahead of elite supercross athletes from the United States and Europe.

In the 250 SX race, Canadian riders performed at their best. Jess Pettis (British Colombia) finished first, ahead American Lorgan Karnow (2nd) and Shawn Maffenbeier (3rd, British Colombia). The amateur men’s MX2 race was won hands-down by Bjorn Viney, while 4X Canadian Champion Eve Brodeur finished first in the ladies amateur category.

No write-up of tonight’s show would be complete without mentioning the stellar Milot Land Tour freestyle demo that wowed the crowd during the intermission. Some of the highlights of the aerial extravaganza orchestrated by Quebec motorcycle legend Ben Milot include world champion Mat Rebeaud’s mind-spinning moves and the sickest of whips by Ben himself.
