Yamaha Motor Canada Presents Behind the Lens From Monster Energy Cup
Although there are a number of high paying off-season supercross events scattered around the globe, none are as high paying or as prestigious as the Monster Energy Cup in Las Vegas. Each year when the MEC makes its way to the City of Entertainment, some of the top SX riders also gather at Sam Boyd Stadium for a chance to win a million dollars. After three exciting main events on Saturday night in front of the capacity crown, Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Eli Tomac completed the trifecta of wins and took home the big prize. It was once again an incredible evening of racing in Las Vegas and Matt Wellumson was there to capture it all for this weeks Yamaha Motor Canada Behind the Lens.
You see, even the best riders in the world sometimes get sideways.
It was great to see Ryan Villopoto come out of retirement and race the 2018 MEC.

Although there were no whoops or difficult rhythm sections in Vegas, the riders still had to deal with some tough sand sections.

Of course, not every rider had fun at the MEC.
Seth Hammaker is definitely the real deal as he looked smooth and fast on the tough MEC track.
The best KJSC riders of the year line up at the MEC. In the end Vincent Wey took home the victory.
