Last weekend, the 2026 Monster Energy Supercross Series visited Cleveland for the first time since 1995. Although the weather wasn’t ideal in Northwestern Ohio on Saturday, the riders and teams made the best of it, and in the end, they put on a great show for the fans. In the 250SX East class, it was Nate Thrasher who used the triple crown format to his advantage, taking his first overall win of the season. In the 450SX class, it was Ken Roczen who edged out Justin Cooper and Cooper Webb to secure the victory and move to within one point of the series lead. Now, the series moves to the City of Brotherly Love for Round 15. For this week’s Behind The Lens, here is a collection of Matt Wellumson photos.
It’s great to see Dean Wilson back racing in the SMX Series. Cooper Webb was very fast in Cleveland, but bad starts kept him out of the lead in all three main events. Eli Tomac came out swinging in Q1, but a few laps in he crashed hard in the whoops and was done for the day. Nate Thrasher had a great day in Cleveland and took his first win of 2026. Before the rain came, the starting straight was dry and hard packed. Star Racing Yamaha riders Cole Davies and Nate Thrasher had a great battle in the second main event. Ken Roczen came to Cleveland with something to prove, and left just one point behind Lawrence in the 450SX standings. Jorge Prado has shown some great speed in recent weeks, but just can’t seem to close out a solid finish. After the rain came the start straight was a muddy mess. Hunter Lawrence had an awful Round 14 and now leads the 450SX class by just one point. Seth Hammaker was fast in Cleveland, but still trails Cole Davies in the points standings. With the whoops breaking down a lot in Cleveland, even Davies struggled at times in them. With two rounds remaining, Davies still leads the 250SX East class. Justin Cooper came very close to winning his first-ever 450SX OA this past weekend. The Roczen/Cooper battle was very entertaining to watch in Cleveland. This was your 250SX East Podium at Round 14. Ken Roczen stands on top of the 450SX class podium in Cleveland.
