In at number six on the MXP Rankings is Kemptville, Ontario rider Jeremy Medaglia. Like his older brother Tyler, Jeremy started riding at a very young age and it has been non stop ever since. At only 23 years of age, Jeremy has a long career ahead of him in motocross, and with some good finishes already under his belt on both sides of the border, Jeremy has experience beyond his years.
Right from the start of his pro career, Jeremy had the benefit of being a member of some of the top teams on the circuit, first with OTSFF Suzuki and most recently with Red Bull KTM Canada Team. In return Jeremy provided his teams with not just moto wins, but with exciting racing each and every weekend. Although he has yet to add a Canadian Championship to his resume, Jeremy is a threat to win every time he lines up on the starting gate. Many people in the industry believe that a championship is not that far off.
For 2013, Jeremy has an entirely new program for the CMRC Monster Energy Motocross Nationals. Thanks to his neighbour and good friend Kevin Tyler, Jeremy is part of Sand Del Lee’s MX101 Yamaha Team and has the complete backing of Yamaha Canada. Also new for this year is Jeremy’s entrance into the very competitive MX1 class, a class he has raced in before but one that is still relatively new to him. Yamaha Canada’s Bryan Hudgin had this to say about the newest member to the Yamaha Team. “We at Yamaha are very excited to have Jeremy onboard for 2013. I have always loved the way Jeremy rides, his aggressiveness and his no excuse attitude is very old school. I’m sure these attributes will serve him well in the MX1 class this summer.”
With less than a month until the start of the CMRC Monster Energy MX Nationals, Jeremy has been preparing all winter in Florida and is in the best shape of his life. Hoping to gain some valuable experience before round one in Nanaimo, BC, Jeremy has entered the first round of the US Nationals in May 18 at Hangtown. Two good moto finishes at Hangtown could give Jeremy that extra confidence every rider needs to become a champion. With his young age, aggressive style and strong work ethic, Jeremy Medaglia will no doubt be at the top of Canadian Motocross for a long time. These are the reasons why Jeremy is at number six on our MXP Rankings.
