Behind The Lens From 2026 Pro Motocross Championships: Round 3- Thunder Valley MX

Round 3 of the 2026 Pro Motocross Championships gave the riders all they could handle with a challenging track, and of course, all that comes with racing at 6000 feet of elevation. However, that didn’t stop the series top riders from putting on an incredible show for the Thunder Valley MX fans. In the 250 class, it was Jo Shimoda taking the win over Levi Kitchen. While in the 450 class, Jett Lawrence once again held on to win both motos and snatch the points lead from his brother Hunter. Now, the series heads east for the first time to the famous Mt. Morris track. As he was all through the SX series, Matt Wellumson was at Thunder Valley this weekend and sent us these incredible photos.

Sacha Coehen rode will in the 250 class and actually won moto two.

Seth Hammaker had a solid day at Round 3 and now sits tied in points with Levi Kitchen.

Could this be the year that Kitchen wins a 250 title? Right now he’s tied atop the points standings.

Lucas Coehen was fast all day as he chased Jett to the finish line in both motos.

Jett is back! After winning both motos at Round 2, Jett did it again on Saturday.

Jett’s technique is about as perfect as it comes!

Preston Masciangelo rode okay to finish 33-29 in the 250 class.

It’s good to see Aaron Plessinger back after his SX injuries.

The Lawrence Brothers are no doubt going to battle all summer for this 450 title.

Nick Romano is making full use of his PC fill-in ride. He went 4-5 for third on Saturday.

Jo Shimoda rode consistently at Round 3 and took the overall win in the 250 class.

Here is what a 450 moto start looks like at 6000 feet.
