Behind The Lens From Salt Lake City SX Presented By Motovan

It’s hard to believe that the 2023 Monster Energy Supercross Series has concluded after four months of exciting racing. During the 17 rounds of the series, we witnessed almost everything, including great racing, big crashes, and certain riders rising to levels never thought possible heading into this season. In the end, the red wave took over the 2023 SX Series as all three champions were members of the powerful HRC Honda Team. Yes, Chase Sexton, Jett Lawrence, and Hunter Lawrence will be remembered for their smooth riding and never give up attitude as they took home the 450SX, and both 250SX titles. It was an amazing season, and for riders like Eli Tomac, who saw his season end in heartbreak, we hope he’s back stronger than ever in 2024. As he’s been all season long, Matt Wellumson was in SLC and sent us these incredible photos.

Chris Blose had a solid 250SX Series as a fill-in rider on the Pro Circuit Kawasaki Team.

It was great to see the #9 finish the series this year.

This is your Rookie of the Year for 2023 in the 250SX class.

Ryan Dungey was in SLC to watch the final round for yet another year.

Chase Sexton celebrates over the SLC finish line jump.

RJ Hampshire had a solid year so Husqvarna rewarded him with a new contract.

Mitchell Harrison saved one of his best rides of 2023 for the final round.

What a great season for the red riders.

Not many people predicted that the HRC boys would win all three SX titles this year.

It was fun to watch the Lawrence Brothers race in the same main event in SLC.

A little rain during the night program made the SLC muddy for the riders.

Enzo Lopes turned a lot of heads this season in the 250SX class.

Jeremy Martin had a solid SX Series and now he’s ready for the great outdoors.

Aaron Plessinger was back in SLC and rode well to finish on the podium.

Congratulations to Chase Sexton on an incredible season in the 450SX class.

Sadly, Ken Roczen wasn’t able to finish off what was a very solid season after twisting his knee in the final.

After the rain the track got very rutted and challenging.

Since the Atlanta round, Chase Sexton has been on rails.

The final main event of the 2023 season leaves heads into Turn 1 in SLC.

We think everyone will agree that these 17 rounds went by extremely fast.

After some rough years Dean Wilson made it through the entire SX Series.

Jo Shimoda is another rider who is no doubt looking forward to the Lucas Oil Motocross Championships.
