Maffenbeier takes over the Pro Lites points lead, and Johnson still sits on top overall
Tuesday November, Nov 11, 2014 – Press Release
The halfway mark of the 2015 Canadian Ax series has come and gone. Cycle North had a solid weekend but one we will chalk up to just another weekend at the track supporting those who support us. “I’m super happy that Shawn is leading Lites, and Ross still owns the top spot overall. The track was unreal this weekend and squeaking through like we did puts a smile on my face,” states manger Kourtney lloyd. It’s usually other racers that are the obstacles, but this weekend in Cloverdale it was the track It was gnarly to say the least.
Tyler Gibbs hs a bright future and we couldn’t be more proud to have him on the Cycle North team. he represents his sponsors well, has a great attitude, and when the gate drops, he wins. It’s simple and he makes it look so effortless out there. The tough track conditions didn’t slow him down one bit as he stays undefeated in the 85 12-15 class after four rounds.
Our newest rider in the AX family is Kawasaki’s Hayden Wolfe. the kid is just a joy to have part of the family. he’s fun, he’s fit, and he’s fast. The experience he’s gaining racing the Future West series is worth its weight in gold. He struggled with the soil this weekend hitting the ground a few times, but he never let it beat him. he would always get back up and try again. that speaks volumes about the character he carries.
It’s safe to say we are all happy to be done with Cloverdale. It was a different type of race weekend, but another one Cycle North is proud to say we were there. Huge thanks to Future West for putting this on and giving us a platform to showcase our racers. Thanks so much to all the sponsors below:

The consistency of Shawn Maffenbeier has him right in this title hunt. When the track got tough, Shawn got tougher. If not for a first turn crash in Lites on Saturday he likely would’ve hit the box in all four mains. Having Shawn under the Cycle North tent is such a positive for our amateurs to see because the guy doesn’t let anything get in his way to the front. Shawn is only 9 points behind with four rounds to go for overall title.
After bringing his newborn son Lincoln into the world just seven days earlier, Ross Johnson was back at the track ready to battle. The weekend was not what he had seen in his mind after such a beautiful moment in life giving a new lease on his job. However, he fought through each main and still is the overall leader heading to Chilliwack. Ross is all heart.
The “Seven Deuce Deuce” Adam Enticknap is quite the character. He brings such a joyful look at life into the Cycle North pits that the moral is always high with laughter and fun. On the track Enticknap is no push over though. When the gate drops he see read and puts the claws out for battle. It wasn’t the weekend he was hoping for having to go to the LCQ on Saturday, but he soldiered through still sitting in a great spot for the title chase.
Dylan Schmoke had a weekend that he would like to forget. Bike problems held him of the start grid. Look for Dylan to rebound in Chilliwack.
