The first weekend of the Future West Arenacross series took place this past weekend in Chilliwack, BC inside Heritage Park. Cycle North Riders Jeremy Medaglia and Ross Johnson joined a 22 Pro rider field as the series put rounds 1-2 in the books. Excitement was in the air all weekend long with the anticipation hopes of awesome race action and the Cycle North riders battling for the win. Ross Johnson was able to grab the box in both Pro Open finals going 3-2. Teammate Jeremy Medaglia grabbed two seconds on Friday night and scored the teams’ first victory on Saturday in Pro Lites in impressive fashion.
Cycle North Honda is very excited to bring Washington native Ross Johnson back after a great summer at the MonsterEnergy Motocross Nationals to battle for a Canadian Arenacross championship. “I love Arenacross,” shared Ross Johnson. “When Cycle North offered me this ride I was stoked to be back with the team for this winter and knew I could be a threat for this title. Night one didn’t go entirely as I planned going 5-3 in the mains. I dealt with some arm pump in the first main, but managed to get rid of it for the rest of the weekend and hit the podium twice in the Open class. The competition was awesome this weekend and I was right there in every race. Always good to get that first one out of the way and see where I fit.”
