MXP: The final round of the 2026 Pro Motocross Championship definitely didn’t disappoint when it came to entertainment. What was your take on how the 450 Championship wrapped up?
RL: It was nothing short of exciting and I can tell you one thing for sure, I didn’t predict for both of the Lawerence’s to have such off days. Such weird things happened in moto one and of course all the stuff leading into the weekend that Jett was going to give him this championship and what not. It was all BS in my opinion, and to really call it the way that I saw it, is Jett’s ankle is not in a good place, and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him sit out the playoffs. Congrats to Hunter he was the better brother all season and deserved this one.
MXP: Dylan Rempel travelled south and raced in the final SMX Next event at Ironman Raceway. The top five finishers on Friday were all fast pro riders on paper, so it was good to see Rempel ride well and finish where he did don’t you think?
RL: I think he did well all things considered to how late he got accepted into the race. We pretty much wrote it off on Thursday morning that it wasn’t happening but sure enough Lars sent a text at like 1pm and said send him down. He only got a couple hours of sleep and performed fairly well. If anyone could do it, it’s Remp with his no stress attitude with things being so uncertain. I think he would have liked to have the first moto back to do over again but the second moto was solid. Look for him at the first two SMX Next playoff rounds coming up here. Great opportunity for him.
MXP: With the results of a few of the young and fast BC riders at the Walton TransCan, the future is very bright for BC motocross. What are your thoughts on the speed and progression of Fisher Bentley and Lincoln Green in particular?
RL: Yes, we have a very solid group of kids coming through the ranks here in the West. It’s interesting to look at the different paths of both Bentley and Green that you mentioned. Fisher is a grinder, doesn’t go south to train, rides sand pits all year around, hits every single local race, practice nights with the support of his Mom, Dad and Step Dad. Lincoln has taken the approach of going to MTF and training at a facility, doing some bigger US amateur races and not as much local stuff, of course with strong family support. I really can’t say one or the other is better for the pure fact that it’s working for both of them. At the end of the day, hard work pays off, and it will be fun to watch these two kids to see where they can take this over the next few years.
