With Toronto Supercross passing through town last weekend, I was lucky enough to attend this race. Might I add that I had great company with the whole GDR Honda Fox racing team there, the amazing people at Fox, Honda, and my girlfriend. With such great company at an event like this you can count on it shaping up to be a good night. My girlfriend and I showed up at the Rogers Centre around 2:30. We watched some of practice and qualifying that gave us a good sneak peak of the track and how racing could turn out. Then as most of you might already know, Cole Seely, Colt and I were up for an autograph signing with the fans. It was awesome to see the posters that the team put together for the event! I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of people that stopped by the booth to get an autograph. It was nice to see some familiar faces and meet some new people as well. One of the best parts of our job is the smiles, the thank yous and the good lucks you get when signing the posters. I feel comfortable saying that in our sport, we have some of the best fans out there. After running out of posters it was then time to check out a little bit more of qualifying. After all of the practices and qualifiers were over it was then time to try and find some food. We went out to dinner as a team, but before we could even pay for our bills, Colton and I had to rush back over to the stadium to do an interview. I do have to admit it was pretty cool to be able to do an interview on the podium that I eventually would like to stand on again. It was also awesome to be able to talk about the upcoming season on the big screen of the stadium with Colt. After finishing the interview, it was time to head up to the Fox box to watch the racing for the night. It was honourable to meet some of the great faces behind the company as well as seeing some of the familiar faces that I have known for years. From the great talks amongst the team about riding and the bikes, to the great conversations with everybody in the box, it was a very fun night.

After the racing was over for the night, it was time for the frigid walk back to the hotel to drop a few things off before heading to Houston’s bar for the after party. At the after party, it was a great time had with a lot of people from the Canadian motocross industry and some familiar racing faces. It felt like everywhere I turned I was talking to somebody, which was great to be able to catch up with everyone. It was also good to let loose a little bit with the team and have some fun with them as well. I can’t explain how awesome everyone on the team is and how much fun we have when we’re together. After a great night out, we headed back to the hotel to get a well-needed sleep. All I can say is what a great event it was and a great day I had. It was nice to see the moto community again after not seeing them for most of winter. I enjoyed seeing that the sport is alive and well in Ontario as well as with the big crowd attendance. Now for me it’s back to California where I will continue my training and get ready for the upcoming season of racing!!
