We are pumped right now. That is the only way to put it. Motocross in Canada has been churning away for a few weeks at regional tracks across Canada. The Nationals are just weeks away, teams and riders are getting ready and making sure there is room on the old credit card to start the cross country battle.
If you have missed this week here on mxpmag.com please go back . Palms had Gate Drop Monday, Thomas Rendall had a fantastic report from Sand Del Lee’s ANQ, Tyler Medaglia sent us a 40 picture report from Riverglade, Dylan Kaelin reported from California, and today (it maybe up now) Denaye Giroux has a blog of her own on mxpmag.com.
A lot of motocross from home and it’s about time, too. If you haven’t had enough, we have Mail it In Friday, plus other sites are pumping out content too. Canadian motocross is a fun place to be right now.
As we said, teams are prepping. If you follow James Lissimore @lissimorephoto on Twitter, you would have seen he was out with the Monster Energy Leading Edge Parts Canada Kawasaki team (that is a mouthful) . That team is going to be solid, as they have been for years, but with Metcalfe, Maier, Villopoto and Politelli, they are going to be a handful for everyone.
Fox has always done a great job of promoting their amateur kids. It is part of what makes Fox…Fox. They work hard at remaining true to their roots. Here is another great video from Fox.

Ten-time motocross world champion Stefan Everts proved he hasn’t lost his magic, proven at the inaugural E-MX demo race at Circuit Zolder in Belgium. Over 900 people saw him claim victory over Ken De Dycker and Yentel Martens yesterday evening. Even in spite of the blistering pace of Britain’s Jake Nicholls and a late charge by Red Bull KTM factory rider Ken De De Dycker, Everts remained untouchable in the final. True to form, ‘the Legend’ demonstrated, on equal machinery, the revolutionary KTM Freeride E, that even at the age of 40 he remains hard to beat!

Check out Tyler Medaglia at Riverglade last weekend!
[youtube id=”P0c4NnSpTxU” width=”600″ height=”350″]
Not to be outdone, little brother Jeremy Medaglia was on it last weekend at the Sand Del Lee ANQ. The word is he is loving his new bike (doesn’t everyone at this time of year?) and is going great. If looks mean anything, his bike should be a ripper!
We are really becoming fans of Dusty Klatt’s artwork, and he has been selling few a pieces as well. As a fan of Dusty’s racing and his work, how cool would it be to have this hanging in your office?
“Snowboard life” $230
The painting is all touched up and ready for clear. Buyer has the option of personalizing the board with a logo or two before final clear. It will go on etsy under my shop KLATTArt. If interested speak up! Dusty
99% of all information comes from the internet today. We take for granted the photo reports, stories, videos, interviews and gobs of information passed on to us.
Motocross photo reporting started with Steve Bruhn and Motonews.
Steve was a moderator for Motonews, when it seemed news about the sport broke hourly. It was the place to be seen, to be heard and was the center of the storm for many debates about the direction of the sport. Steve was at the middle of it all, the moto industry had never been so open to criticism and scrutiny It really changed so many aspects of motocross in digital reporting, fan interaction and commentary.
Steve was a fierce independent, opinionated and happy to have a good old fashioned debate. He traveled the country and the world covering the sport. A number of years ago he left digital motocross to go work at NASA as an engineer. He stayed in touch and occasionally posted to forums, or you would find his name on a photo credit. He passed away this week. Like him or hate him, he was the father of the online community in motocross.
