Maier finishes season off with 4th in moto two at series finale
Immediate Release
Kamloops, BC(August 20, 2014) The 2014 Canadian Motocross National series reached its conclusion this past weekend at the Parts Canada Walton TransCan, in Walton, Ontario and the Monster Energy Thor Kawasaki team was looking to end things on a high note.
Teddy Maier, who had been consistently in the Top 5 all season long had another strong day, running with the lead pack and logging 6-4 finishes for 5th overall on the day. He would end the series in 5th overall for the second straight year and will continue to take the Number Five plate into 2015. “I felt the day went alright. It’s too bad the series has to end now, I feel like we’ve been getting the bike better and better all season and I was just starting to ride at my best, I really wish we could keep going but that’s how it goes. All in all, it was a pretty good year,” remarked Maier.
For the team’s other MX1 rider, Josh Hill, who had established himself as a consistent podium threat, a hard crash in moto one left him banged up. He lined up for moto two but was unable to complete the moto. Still, he was pretty happy with his season in Canada: “Man, I wish the final race would have gone better but I had such a great time racing in Canada this summer. The team was so fun to be a part of and I’m glad I could show people I can still ride outdoors. I can’t wait to build on this in 2015.”
In MX2, Dillan Epstein suffered a knee injury in practice and was unable to race. That left Jess Pettis to fly the team flag in the class and he had a solid day as the rookie rode to consistent 9-9 finishes for 10th overall. Pettis was happy to finish off his season strong, “It was too bad I got hurt at the opening round, because I felt really good coming into the season, so I’m glad I could come back, finish things off well and learn a lot I can apply to next season.”
With the conclusion of the Walton round, that marks the end of the 2014 season and the team can’t thank everyone enough for all their support.
