Nathan Bles out for remainder of MX1 Nationals

Due to a concussion, which he suffered during qualifying laps for Round 8 in Moncton on Sunday, July 30th, Team Royal Distributing Motovan Piller’s Racing presented by Huber Motorsports’ Nathan Bles will be unable to campaign the remaining two MX1 rounds of the CMRC sanctioned Rockstar Energy Drink Motocross Nationals.

Bles got into difficulty while in the process of scrubbing the finish line jump, a manoeuvre that was hindered by the roost of the bike just ahead of him, causing the Bayfield, Ontario native to overjump the finish line. He landed hard off the jump in the deep valley below it, which then caused him to case the steep double jump immediately after the finish line landing.

It is believed Bles suffered some initial head damage during the finish line jump landing, which was further aggravated when he cased the second jump of the double. At that point he careened off the track, went down and was knocked unconscious. Although he was spared broken bones and internal injuries, Bles was diagnosed with a mild to medium concussion. He was advised by his physician to sit out the final two rounds of the title hunt so he can heal properly and be cleared for his post-nationals racing commitments.      “It was just purely one of those freak, almost never happens incidents that unfortunately caught up with Nathan. We were all looking forward to seeing him end up with a top-ten MX1 ranking at the end of the season, a personal goal he had well within reach. Fortunately, however, it can be said he got off pretty lightly, considering how much worse the outcome of his crash could have been,” team manager Adam Robinson noted.

Bles was holding down 10th place in the points, going into Round 8, and in a position to possibly snare ninth or even eighth in the closing rounds. Everyone at Team Royal Distributing Motovan Piller’s Racing presented by Huber Motorsports wishes Nathan a speedy recovery and further success in the post-nationals season.

In dedication to Gerhart Huber’s youngest son, Kurtis—who has autism—Royal Distributing Motovan Piller’s presented by Huber Motorsports will be racing the entire 2017 Motocross Nationals season in support of Autism Awareness.

*** About Piller’s – A Proud Heritage: In 1957, Wilhelm Huber opened a small butcher shop in Waterloo, Ontario using family recipes and traditional European meat processing methods to provide his customers with authentic, great-tasting European deli meats. Two years later, his brothers Edward and Heinrich joined the company, which became Piller’s Sausages and Delicatessens Limited.
From those humble beginnings, Piller’s has become one of North America’s largest producers of European sausages and deli meats, famous for award-winning products such as Black Forest ham and air-dried salamis. To this day, after five generations of sausage makers, Piller’s still uses the same natural aging, curing, and smoking process that had customers lining up outside Wilhelm Huber’s butcher shop over 60 years ago. The company was acquired by Premium Brands Holdings Corporation in 2011 and is now known as Piller’s Fine Foods.       For more information, please visit: http://www.pillers.com   Find us at: https://www.facebook.com/pillersfine.foods
