Last weekend’s Moncton Motocross National was a rough one for Monster Energy Leading Edge Kawasaki. Bikes and riders were broken over the two MX2 motos and overall it’s a weekend the team would rather not talk about. The big loss of the day and saddest comes with Kawaski’s Jeremy Medaglia crashing hard and breaking his collarbone and orbital bone during the first MX2 moto. Ouch.

Obviously this means Jeremy is sitting on the sidelines, icing much of his body for the next couple of months. It’s been a difficult season to say the least for the normally championship-contender caliber rider. It was a late switch from the Smartop MotoConcepts Honda to a KX250F which he has never ridden before. Two weeks before round one isn’t enough at the highest level. The worst is that darkest moment comes with Jeremy getting injured. Here’s to a speedy recovery for the hard charging rider.

US Kawasaki privateer Dillan Epstein gets the call to replace Jeremy Medaglia on the Monster Energy Leading Edge Kawasaki team for the final rounds of the Canadian Motocross Nationals.

US Kawasaki privateer Dillan Epstein gets the call to replace Jeremy Medaglia on the Monster Energy Leading Edge Kawasaki team for the final rounds of the Canadian Motocross Nationals.

So, in place of Jeremy we have US privater Dillan Epstein from Thousand Oaks, California stepping in and keeping Jeremy’s Monster Energy KX250F cleaned out for the next two nationals. Epstein has experience in AMA Supercross and Motocross and should no doubt be a podium threat at Ulverton, Quebec this Sunday and at the final round in Walton, Ontario on Sunday August 17th.

“The loss of Jeremy is obviously a huge blow to the team, but we are very happy to have someone of Dillan’s ability and positive attitude on board with such short notice,” said Leading Edge Kawasaki team manager, Jason Hughes.

Keep an eye Epstein this Sunday during Round 9 of the Rockstar Energy Drink Motocross Nationals! He’ll be pitted out of the big Monster Energy Leading Edge Kawasaki pit. Make him feel welcome and say hello.
