TEAM MONSTER ENERGY LEADING EDGE THOR KAWASAKI LEADS BOTH THE MX1 & MX2 CLASSES…….

INTO CALGARY FOR ROUND THREE OF THE MONSTER ENERGY MOTOCROSS NATIONALS

A New Wild Rose MX Park Track Design To Be Released For Calgary`s Monster Energy Motocross National

Calgary, Alberta (June 13, 2012) – During round two of the Monster Energy Motocross Nationals from Kamloops, British Columbia, riders relied on fitness and proper bike set up to attack the grueling track layout. Round three of the series continues to move east as Wild Rose Motocross Park in Calgary, Alberta will no doubt challenge riders when a new track design is revealed.

Heading into round three, Monster Energy Leading Edge Thor Kawasaki riders Matt Goerke and Teddy Maier have dominated the first two rounds of the series in both the MX1 and MX2 classes.  With momentum clearly on their side, Goerke and Maier will both be looking to extend their points leads when leaving Calgary.

When the 2012 Monster Energy Motocross Nationals began, everyone knew that Florida’s Matt Goerke would be a MX1 championship contender.  Few people predicted that coming into round three, Goerke would be undefeated in all four motos.  Behind Goerke is a host of talented riders waiting to capitalize should Goerke make a mistake.  Series heavy weights like KTM Red Bull Royal Distributing Fox Racing`s Colton Facciotti, Rockstar Energy OTSFF Yamaha Motovan.com`s Bobby Kiniry and Gopher Dunes Racing Troy Lee Designs Powersport Canada’s Tyler Medaglia will all be looking to rise to Goerke’s level, challenging him for the top step of the podium this weekend.

In the MX2 class, Monster Energy Leading Edge Thor Kawasaki`s Teddy Maier has used a combination of speed and experience to also win the first two rounds of the series. Maier has been winning regardless of his position off the start of each moto. Maier`s performances have him beaming with confidence, but as we enter Calgary, Maier will have tough competition from his teammate Kyle Beaton and KTM Red Bull Royal Distributing Fox Racing`s Jeremy Medaglia. Both of these young riders have shown remarkable patience and are yet to make any mistakes, as they are finding the speed needed to take on Maier this weekend.

The track at Wild Rose MX Park in Calgary, Alberta will give the riders all they can handle.  With the track’s notorious deep ruts, big jumps and steep hills, it is one of the longest and fastest on the schedule.  Adding to the riders’ workload will be the fact that the track sits at an elevation of 3500 feet above sea level, meaning thinner air will no doubt call upon the fitness level of all the competing racers.
Round three of the Monster Energy Motocross Nationals, from Wild Rose MX Park in Calgary, will commence on Sunday, June 17. Live audio coverage will begin at 8:00am local time with opening motos starting at 12:10pm.
