TEAM SOLITAIRE HEARTBEAT HOT SAUCE YAMAHA KICKS OFF 2024 RACE SEASON, WITH BONUS STOP AT THE METAL HOF GALA

As it always does, the Monster Energy Supercross series kicked off its 17-round stadium series in Anaheim, California at the iconic Angel’s Stadium. Fresh off resigning a multi-year agreement with Canadian based hot sauce company, Heartbeat Hot Sauce, the 2024 version of the Team Solitaire Yamaha race team rang in the new year like they always do, competing against the best in the world.

Proving to be as stacked at the top end as ever before in 250 West regional competition, the team called upon two veterans to fill out their roster. Robbie Wageman (#73) and Cole Thompson (#71), both of whom have been with the team before signed one-year deals to return to the Yamaha effort.

To know one’s surprise. the opening round was sold out completely and the 45,000 fans in attendance were treated to a night of great racing that saw the sport’s newest rookie sensation, Jett Lawrence win in his very first 450 Monster Energy Supercross start. In the 250 class, Team Solitaire put both guys in the main event straight out of their heats, eventually finishing 12th and 14th respectively.

The next two rounds held in San Francisco and San Diego brought forth inclement weather to riders where heavy rains made for almost unrideable conditions inside the stadiums. In San Francisco, so much rain sat on the track, you could’ve made the argument that maybe a jet-ski would’ve served better purpose than a motorcycle. The Yamaha riders were able to grab 11th and 12th in San Diego and the team was able to squeak out a top 15 finish in San Francisco in the iconic “mudder”.

Heading back to Anaheim for round 4 with hopes of some dryer weather, the team also got to enjoy walking the red carpet at this year’s Metal Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Close to NAMM and always a good time, some of this year’s inductees included:

Eddie Trunk (Special 40th Anniversary Induction)

Mick Mars (Special video induction)

Sebastian Bach (Inducted by Wendy Dio)

Tim “Ripper” Owens (KK’s Priest, Judas Priest, Iced Earth)

Carlos Cavazo (Quiet Riot)

Penelope Spheeris (Producer/Director: Decline of Western Civilization, Wayne’s World)

Mikeal Maglieri – Whisky a Go Go, Rainbow Bar & Grill

Cleopatra Records

Biohazard

Being so close to NAMM, the event even had surprise guests, performances, and an ALL-STAR JAM!

After the red-carpet fun…it was back to business.

Like last year, Anaheim 2 was the first triple crown round of the year (3 main event races – average is your overall) and it did not disappoint from an excitement level. Thompson and Wageman both qualified directly into the 3 main format. With both riders battling some nagging injuries, it was 15th and 13th overall finishes, but a great start in the third main saw Robbie Wageman run up front with the leaders for a handful of laps showing promise of what may be to come for the remainder of the season.
