Even though the Thunder Valley track doesn’t get that rough, the riders always dread racing there because of the high elevation of the area surrounding Denver, CO. Also, with this race taking place in June the weather can sometimes be very hot. This past weekend at Round 2 of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championships the riders had to face both of these conditions as the temperatures were hot at 5500 feet elevation. In the end, Star Racing Yamaha rider Justin Cooper took home the win in the 250 class with a 2-2 moto score while HRC Honda rider Ken Roczen won both 450 motos to take the win in the premier class. It was an entertaining day of racing in Colorado and now the riders will get a week off before resuming their series in Mt, Morris on June 19. Matt Wellumson travelled to Thunder Valley and he sent us these incredible photos.
