After a summer of grueling outdoor motocross, the 2020 Rockstar Energy Triple Crown SXTour Series moved indoors this past weekend. Well, it wasn’t quite indoors, but it was still a technical Supercross built at the famous Gopher Dunes track. Watching our top riders race SX is always exciting as most are quite good at it. The only issue is that because of the way the Triple Crown Series was scheduled in 2020, most of the riders didn’t have much time on an SX track coming into the opening round. Because of this SX rust, there were a lot of crashes on both Friday and Saturday and a few riders were forced to sit out the rest of the weekend. In the end, Cole Thompson and Marshal Weltin were the big winners in Round 1, while Dylan Wright and Weltin took home the victory at Round 2. It was an exciting two nights of racing and this weekend should be even better. As he’s been all season long, James Lissimore was at Gopher Dunes and sent us these incredible photos.
