Young And On Rise Presented By Leatt Canada- Banks Inglis

Banks Inglis is an 11 year old rider from Kamloops, BC. During this past season, Banks competed in the Future West MX Championships, which took place all over BC. Banks is also a solid indoor rider, and we caught up with him at the opening weekend of the 2025 West Coast AX Series, where he was racing both his 65cc and 85cc machines.

MXP: We know it’s a busy day here in Chilliwack, so thank you for taking a few moments to chat. What is your full name and what classes do you race?

BI: My name is Banks Inglis and I race in 65 Open class as well as an 85 7-11 class.

Your red GASGAS bikes are looking pretty good sitting here in the Chilliwack AX paddock. Where are you from Banks?

I’m from Kamloops, so not too far from here.

What is it that you like the most about living in the Kamloops area?

I would say that I really like how much acreage there is. There is lots of space there to do things.

So, does this mean that you like racing outdoors more than indoors?

I do like racing AX, but if I had to choose, I’d pick racing outdoors more.

Well, that’s fair. However, I watched you in practice and you look pretty good on an AX track.

(laughs) Thanks!

Do you have a favourite track?

I think my favourite track is the track near Kelowna. I used to like the Whispering Pines track, as it’s not too far from my house, but its closed now. Also, it got so dry and rock-hard every time I rode there. But, when it was maintained correctly, it was pretty fun.

What are your favourite parts of a track. Do you like jumps, corners, the whoops?

Probably corners and tabletop jumps. I really like the finish line jump here (Chilliwack AX), it’s big and you can really launch it, but it’s also safe and fun.

Yes, I would agree, the finish line jump is fun to hit. So, you’re 11 years old and you love dirt bikes. What is your favourite part of being at the track?

I think it’s everything. I love being at the track with my Dad, and just hanging out with all of my buddies.

When I was your age I think that was my favourite part also. Away from the track, what things do you like to do?

I like go-karting and mountain biking. The area where I live is really good for mountain biking, so I do a lot of that. That’s really about it.

Banks and his Father Brad makes a great team at the track.

Sounds like you like going fast! Do you have a favourite rider?

I like Carson Brown because of all of the cool things he does on a dirt bike. I also like Eli Tomac and Justin Barcia.

Those three are awesome. I rode with Carson Brown last year at a Kawasaki press event, he’s a really nice guy off the bike as well. If you had to pick something about your riding that you think you need to work on, what would that be?

I want to be better at hitting big doubles, as well as in deep ruts. If I could work on those areas, and keep getting good starts, I feel like I could do really well next season.

Sounds good Banks! Keep working on those things and you’ll be good to go in 2026. Final question, who would you like to thank?

I would like to thank Troy Lee Designs, Outlaw, and my Dad. I definitely wouldn’t be able to do all of this without them.
