Behind the Lens From San Diego Two

I’m sure that everyone will agree that the racing in San Diego on Saturday night was at times, less than thrilling. However, as they’ve been since the beginning of the season, Frank Hoppen’s photos were very exciting. As was Cole Thompson incredible 9th place finish in the 250Sx main event. It was definitely a great night for our Canadian SX hero and with one more round to go before the West Lites class takes a long break, hopefully Cole can do it again this weekend in Dallas. However, let’s first take a look at the action from Petco Park through the lens of Frank Hoppen.

Chad and Mike Alessi cross path’s in the night at Petco Park. Not sure what happen to Chad’s googles, but I’m sure that helped lead to his worst finish of the series so far.

I think it’s safe to say that most of the West Coast SX tracks didn’t suit Weston Peick’s style. He was a distance 9th in San Diego.
sd2 musquin
Marvin Musquin’s weird French style reminds me alot of David Vuillemin from a decade ago. However, both seem to find a way to get it done on a SX track.

This has to be one of the photos of the year so far as Jason Anderson just sends it through the sand section.

Cole Thompson had a great night in San Diego and rode to a solid 9th in the main event.

Nothing like celebrating a huge victory and the solo points lead after six rounds. It’s been great to watch the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki Team have success again.

Saturday was Military appreciation night in San Diego and I think the best looking bike was Kyle Cunningham’s Blue Angels inspired Suzuki.
