Deschambault, Quebec, Canada – Royal Distributing Fox KTM Team rider Kaven Benoit posted his best result of the season. Kaven was unbelievable aboard his KTM 250SX (two-stroke). Not only did Kaven go 1-1 for first Overall in Deschambault, but he pulled the Royal holeshot in both motos. Tyler Medaglia had two solid 3rd place podium finishes in both MX1 moto’s and received an honorable 4th place overall finish. The first moto MX2 podium was dominated by three KTM 250SX (two-strokes). Racing on Sunday proved to be extremely difficult as the rain came down all morning turning the loamy sand track of Deschambault into somewhat of a swamp. What began as a rain storm soon turned into a beautiful Sunday afternoon as the sun came out for the beginning of the 2nd MX2 moto.
In the MX2 class Kaven Benoit was on fire. Some would dare to say that he is beginning to look more and more like racing legend JSR on and off the track. Kaven was the first one out of the gate in both motos, earning the coveted Royal holeshot award. He looked effortless on his KTM 250SX (two-stroke) as he destroyed the field in both motos. There is no question that Kaven has been working extremely hard all season and it certainly showed this weekend. Kaven’s hometown crowd was on hand in Deschambault to cheer him on to victory. Kaven once again holds onto the number one plate and increases his points lead by 33 points over 2nd place.
In the MX1 class Tyler Medaglia was an expected favorite, as he has proven time and time again to be exceptional in the sand. Tyler once again performed well earning 3rd place in both moto’s in the MX1 class. Tyler would finish a respectable 4th overall on the day. Track conditions were not ideal as water had accumulated in many areas of the track. Expect Tyler to improve his results and stand atop the podium next weekend in Moncton.
Special mention must be given to Liam O’Farrell and Jeremy Pronovost who finished 2nd and 3rd in moto 1 in the MX2 class aboard their KTM 250SX (two-strokes). The three two-strokes worked unbelievably well in the muddy sand.
Look for the Royal Distributing Fox KTM Race Team to better their results at the next round of the Rockstar Energy Drink Motocross Nationals in Moncton.
