FXR Racing Presents The Mid-Week Report With Andy White

We have become a society that demands results immediately, and since the dawning of the internet and social media, it has changed how we as fans come to expect race results and down to the minute action. This is the time of the year where we start looking to the internet for race results from around the world, and it’s become pretty easy to track races from Europe these days. I remember having to wait for a whole week for results when the newspaper called Cycle News came out every Wednesday. This was the only place to find out who won or what was going on in the world of moto. For our younger generation this must seem inconceivable. It was a pretty exciting day when Cycle News showed up on your door step. You would see who won the last national or supercross. The other option was to wait for Motocross Action to come out with results from two months ago. With today’s technology we can follow live lap timing to the minute and it seems we are still wanting more.

Jimmy Decotis has been riding very well in the Australian SX Series and so far after three rounds he’s undefeated.

It was awesome to see Jimmy Decotis win the first three rounds of the Australian supercross series and I’m sure this will help with his training for the US supercross series. I have heard he currently has a few offers on the table. I guess it helps that he is dominating the series on the other side of the world. How cool is that?! Take a chance on a ride and it all pans out. It was also neat to see Brett Metcalfe on a Husky 450. The first time on the bike and he ends up secpmd overall. Speaking about Metty, I am sure you have heard by now that he is coming back to Canada but on a Yamaha for OTSFF and Rockstar.

Every year around this time you see a bunch of US riders head over to Europe for a few special SX rounds in different countries. This past weekend there was a SX in Holland and Kyle Partridge pretty well dominated. Then there was the other SX event in Bulgaria. How cool was it to see Mike Brown on the list of riders? I believe Mike finished sixth the first night and fifth the second. I read a story where he lost his suspension and his MX boots on the way to Bulgaria. This meant stock suspension and borrowed boots for the Forma 125 national champ.

This coming weekend we have a two arenacross events going on in Western Canada. The BC Future West series is at Cloverdale for their second round of their series. I see Ross Johnson has decided to compete in the full series now. I’m sure there are a few riders that are probably not so pumped about the 2015 champ being in the house. The Canadian national arenacross series has its final stop in Calgary this weekend too. There is $25,000 USD on the line and only one rider can win it at this point. I am sure it’s been a long two weeks for Jacob Hayes. It will be exciting to see some new faces this coming weekend.

I was hoping to see some good results from Tyler Medaglia at the final round of the GNCC, but unfortunately he injured himself at the previous round. There has been some talk that Tyler is looking at some options in the US in 2016. That’s it for this week. See you at the races.
