Final Southern California Stop for Pirelli’s Monster Energy Supercross Athletes

ROME, Ga. (USA) February 11, 2016 – The Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, returns to Petco Park in San Diego, California this Saturday, February 13, for round 6 of 17. This weekend is the final stop on the 2016 schedule for Southern California as the series prepares to head east.

Davi
Millsaps

Davi Millsaps is full of momentum as he is coming off of a season-high finish from last weekend’s race in Glendale, which saw him capture the 450SX Class Main Event holeshot and ride to a strong fifth place finish. Each week he continues to take another step towards reaching his potential. He is a two-time 450SX Class winner in San Diego, his last career win came here in 2013.

BTO Sports/WPS/KTM teammate Justin Brayton has had a strong start to the 2016 season, which he has finished inside of the top-10 at the first five rounds. Last weekend he recorded his best finish of the season with a seventh place. As one of the best starters in the 450SX Class, it is only a matter of time before the Iowa native breaks into the top five.

Weston Peick

The Autotrader/Monster Energy/Yamaha rider of Weston Peick is no doubt one of the toughest competitiors on the circuit. He has faced his share of difficulties the past several weekends, but he continues to soldier through the pain and looks to turn things around starting this weekend. Phil Nicoletti has displayed flashes of speed, however luck has not been on his side, but he plans to change that before leaving California.

Alex Ray

Privateer racer Alex Ray made his first Main Event appearance of the season last weekend in the 450SX Class. He is looking to keep the momentum on his side and back up last weekend’s performance. TPJ Racing’s Nick Schmidt has become a regular face in the star-studded 450SX lineup, which has witnessed him power his SCORPION™ MX tires to the past four main events.

Kyle
Cunningham

Motorcycle Superstore Suzuki’s Kyle Cunningham is using his experience to secure strong, consistent finishes on a weekly basis in the Western Regional 250SX Class. He is currently sitting inside the top-10 in the championship points. With a handful of top-10 finishes to start the year, the Texan is knocking on the door to jump in the top five mix. Killian Auberson will have his sights set on joining his Pirelli teammate in the 250SX Class Main Event for the second time this season.

Supercross action from Petco Park gets underway on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 7:00p.m. PT and can be viewed on FS1. Check local listings for channel information.
